This Privacy Policy describes how Video Maker Studios, LLC, doing business as Pet Video Maker (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use our website at Pet Video Maker and our related services (the “Services”).

When you create an account or make a purchase, we collect your name, email address, password (stored in hashed form), and billing/shipping address.
1.2 User Content
When you use our video creation tools, we collect the photos, videos, audio files, text (pet names, dates, tribute text, opening/closing phrases), and other materials you upload or enter (“User Content”).
1.3 Payment Information
Payment processing is handled by our third-party payment processor (currently Stripe via WooCommerce). We do not store your full credit card number. We may receive and store truncated card details (last 4 digits, expiration date) and transaction records for billing and support purposes.
1.4 Usage Data
We automatically collect certain information when you use the Services, including:
- IP address, browser type, device type, operating system
- Pages visited, time spent, referring URLs
- Feature usage analytics (e.g., wizard steps completed, viewport size, mobile detection)

1.5 Cookies & Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies including:
- Session cookies to maintain your login state and video creation progress (14-day expiry)
- Google Analytics 4 for website analytics and usage insights
- WordPress/WooCommerce cookies for cart and checkout functionality

1.6 Guest Sessions
If you use the Services without creating an account (e.g., starting a free draft), we collect a guest session identifier, IP address, user agent, and optionally your email address if you provide it for draft reminders.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Services, including rendering your videos and hosting Memorial Pages
- Process payments and fulfill orders (including physical keepsakes via third-party fulfillment)
- Send transactional communications (order confirmations, video status updates, draft reminders)
- Improve and develop the Services, including analyzing usage patterns and troubleshooting
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not train any AI models on your personal User Content or Generated Videos. AI features (e.g., suggested tribute text) use third-party models that process prompts in real time without retaining your personal data for training.
3. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, our legal bases for processing your personal data include:
- Contract Performance: Processing necessary to provide the Services you requested
- Legitimate Interests: Improving our Services, preventing fraud, ensuring security
- Consent: Where you have given explicit consent (e.g., marketing emails, draft reminders); you may withdraw consent at any time

- Amazon Web Services (AWS) — cloud infrastructure, video rendering, job queue processing
- Google Cloud Storage (GCS) — media file storage (photos, videos, audio)
- Stripe (via WooCommerce) — payment processing
- Printful — physical product fulfillment and shipping
- Google Analytics — website analytics
- Pusher — real-time video rendering status updates
- Google Gemini AI — AI-assisted tribute text suggestions (prompts only, no data retention)
- Google Fonts — font delivery
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information for third-party advertising purposes.
5. International Data Transfers
Your data is processed primarily in the United States. If you are located outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S. We use Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards where required to ensure adequate data protection for international transfers.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. Specific retention periods:
- Account data: Retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period after deletion for legal and business purposes
- Billing records: Retained for a minimum of 7 years to comply with tax and accounting obligations
- Analytics data: Anonymized or deleted after 90 days
- Guest session data: Automatically purged after the session expiry period (14 days)
- User Content & Generated Videos: Retained while your account is active; may be deleted upon account termination, service discontinuation, or at our discretion with reasonable notice

- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate personal data
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal retention requirements)
